Our Story
Wiegand Sports USA is the North American division of Wiegand Sports GmbH Germany, the company that invented the Alpine Coaster and forever changed mountain recreation. More than 20 years ago, we installed the very first Alpine Coaster in North America — a milestone that opened the door for resorts and parks to generate year-round revenue with a single attraction.
Our story began in 1963, when Josef Wiegand founded a small company in Rasdorf, Germany. What started in one village workshop has grown into a global leader with over 500 employees and over 350 Alpine Coaster installations worldwide. We are trusted by a 1000+ parks worldwide including 75+ here in North America.
